We hope you enjoy taking a peek at some of the
things we enjoy doing at St James.
Reception Class of 2015 all dressed up and ready to go to St James Parish Church for their "Friendship" Wedding ceremony.
At St James we endeavour to take the children on educational visits each year,
linked to their curriculum topic work
So, for example, visits to places such as The Sea Life Centre in Birmingham or The Cotswold Wildlife Park, have helped children learn about sea creatures and animals.
Additionally we welcome in visitors from outside including for example, the local police.
We also like to take the children on out locally, so for example, our Reception class visit the Southam fire station where they learn about fire safety as well as having the opportunity to explore the fire engine and even squirt the hose!
In the Summer Term our older children go on residential trips. Quite often this
will be their first experience of staying away from home.
Year 5 go on an action packed trip to The Frontier Centre in Northamptonshire and
our Year 6 children visit the ancient city of York.
This type of "hands on learning" is a really exciting way of enhancing children's learning
as well as providing valuable life experience.
